I want to help you become the person you were meant to be
Sometimes that means changing things about ourselves or our behaviors, sometimes it means understanding who we are and learning to love that person. Most of the time, we have to do some of both.
I am eager to create a safe space for you to bring whoever you are and whatever you have. I want you to feel the best you can about you who are, be able to do what makes you happy, and work through whatever obstacles your mind or circumstances create.
My therapy utilizes a person-centered framework with a cognitive behavioral lens. This means my primary focus is to provide a warm, empathetic, non-judgmental, and authentic space while we process through the intermingling of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I often integrate imaginative and active modalities that incorporate play, art, and creativity to enhance the therapeutic experience. My goal is to guide while allowing you to lead, so you can meet your goals, in your way.
education and experience
I grew up in a small town in eastern Washington, and then went to Whitworth University to study accounting and marketing. I spent some years working in administrative and support roles before finding my way to my graduate program for counseling.
I attended Gonzaga University to receive a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, graduating in May 2023. My program included an internship where I provided mental health counseling and psychotherapy services within a high school.
After graduating, I spent 3 years working at a private practice in Spokane, working with an age range of 7-45 and supporting a variety of diagnoses. At that point, I started Find Your Joy Counseling to continue serving the Spokane area.
